organic_grapes_renewable_sugarcane

Once made of fossil fuel-based plastics, the caps on wine carton packages can now be made from renewable plastics derived from sugarcane.

This latest innovation – using renewable high-density polyethylene (HDPE) that is also recyclable and can be later turned into new products – further boosts the already unbeatable sustainability of cartons as a packaging system for wine.

Use of renewable materials – defined as natural resources that can be replenished over time, such as wood fibre from trees or bio-based plastic from sugarcane – plays an important role in mitigating resource scarcity and climate change.
